Fitting different forks to ural 650

I remember reading something about fitting Japanese forks (Honda I think) in order to fit disc brakes to the front wheel.
Also, does anyone have any information on fitting wider wheels (fatter tyres)

The holes for the legs in the triple tree of the M72 have a diam. 36, frontlegs of my Beemer R65 have the same diam. So if you keep the original triple tree it’s easy peasy, believe that more brands use the same diam. !

I think THE Andy used Yammie 750 forks with a disc brake, don’t know model, but 1980s. Wider wheels,,, that’s another story i.e. car tyres. Wider motorcycle tyres (tires, sic) about the most can fit are 4.10 X 19″ with the standard mudguards and final drive cardan. On a solo Avon RoadRunners are good, If you are thinking sidecar that’s another level.
